...the ironic hipster trucker cap thing was always a little screwy. i never quite got why it was ironic that one class of people would wear the fashion of another class of people with the sole intention of pointing out how the second class of people were terribly unhip and declassé. trucker caps always struck me as saying "i would never, ever want to be confused with the type of people who wear these hats and i trust that my superiority shines through enough to make this obvious." is that ironic? i guess. but moreso it's kind of pretentious and maybe mean-spirited in a way that doesn't seem to give with the open-minded, progressive spirit offered up by those wearing said trucker hat in an ironic fashion. i wonder if truckers ever do something similar except i don't know what that would be. wander around with an old Nabakov paperback in their back pocket? or maybe they don't because they're too busy delivering overpriced trucker hats to the mall.

headin' out on the highway/lookin' for adventure...
